C.O.R.M
WHAT IS C.O.R.M?
A fictional museum that focuses and celebrates the genre of video games known as rhythm arcade games. They are nothing but exciting, bright, and just an overall fun experience. To fully display their bombastic and colorful nature, I chose bright and bold colors similar to neon lights. This aesthetic was pushed further by various game-play pictures. Throughout the designs, I stuck with the pink and purple color scheme seen in the logo, while using a combination of halftone, threshold, and gradient effects to the pictures.
CORM LOGO
The logo incorporates all of the aspects that make up rhythm games. Sharp angles showcases the unapologetic nature of rhythm games with its bombastic nature. The colors are vibrant, full with life and excitement that is created from play rhythm games. The colors are also common in rhythm games themselves. The "O" refers back to the common play style seen in rhythm games - circular buttons.
"FEEL THE RHYTHM" - POSTER
The poster follows the similar design style seen in the logo but now instead incorporates photography of rhythm game play. Feel the rhythm was always a common phrase when a person first starts playing because they often just try to predict the timing. Feeling the rhythm is key in being good in these kind of games so showcasing that feeling through color and movement was essential when designing the poster.
BROCHURE
The overall idea was to showcase the various kinds of rhythm games in the market while staying true to rhythm games themselves with the design. Once again the same design style was used with photography being a staple, but what was unique about the brochure was the shape. It is a giant silhouette of an R to represent rhythm.
PACKAGING - MINI GUITAR
Guitar hero, despite it being American, played a crucial role in expanding the rhythm game landscape overseas as it was the only rhythm game within typical arcades. To pay homage to that past, the form of the package was a classic game cabinet with lines being sporadically spread throughout the design for the guitar strings.
PACKAGING - MINI FAN
Rhythm game players typically game for hours on end, and due to the giant size of the games, they are always in the arcade. More than likely, the arcade itself provides a fan but in the case where they don't, they bring their own fan. To accommodate this need, the museum would sell mini fans that can stand on their own and has a 180 degree turn angle to propley cool down their user.
PACKAGING - GIFT BAG
A museum always needs a gift bag! It is quite simple in its design but it does so by using similar design choices seen in th previous layouts. It only incorporates a background and logo - one in the front and one at the bottom.
